National Youth Convention 2017

In the words of Trent Shelton “At the end of the day all that matters is love and memories so make sure you give it and make sure you make them.” Indeed the experience at the X National Youth Convention, 2017 was something to be cherished and will be lingering in every delegate’s mind for quite sometime. National Youth Convention (NYC), the most awaited event for the Catholic Youth of India, was hosted by the National Team of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM). It is hosted in every three years and this year was the Tenth Edition of the National Youth Convention, hosted at St.Joseph’s Engineering College at Vamanjoor, Mangalore. NYC is a conference where the youth from all over India in limited numbers gather together to experience the love of Christ in a youthful manner. Delegates from 172 Diocese from all over India had assembled at the NYC venue at St Joseph’s Engineering College, Mangalore, more than 2500 youths had gathered to experience this dynamic conference to become the next leaders of tomorrow. The delegates were so involved in the convention that they never realized that the final days of the NYC was about to end. The whole convention ended with a Peace Rally and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist on the last day.
The DID and the Convention left every delegate with some of the beautiful memories to cherish which can never be forgotten. Many were busy with their last selfies and their last good byes, but for the delegates of Kolkata this convention was just a new beginning of their new friendship. They all met each other as strangers but today they have become one family. The delegates Hope and Pray that they meet each other again someday, somewhere according to God’s own plan.
